Bespoke High Jewelry — The Stone Comes First

This collection is created differently from ordinary jewelry customization. We find the exceptional jadeite first, and then create the jewelry around it.

When a specimen-grade green cabochon becomes available, Hermit Jade will notify interested clients. Each stone is individually presented with its color, proportions, light, clarity, and character so that the client can decide whether it is the right stone for them.

Once the jadeite has been selected, our team can work with the client to create a bespoke High Jewelry piece around it. The designs shown here are examples of settings that work particularly beautifully with these exceptional cabochons—from refined everyday rings to elegant diamond-set pieces. They are intentionally classic, sophisticated, and enduring, rather than designed around a short-lived fashion trend.

The setting can be developed according to the natural character of the selected jadeite. 18K gold and natural diamonds may be used to frame and illuminate the green cabochon, while the overall design remains refined enough for regular wear. The diamonds are not intended to compete with the jadeite; they provide the brilliance and structure that allow the exceptional green stone to remain the center of attention.

Because truly exceptional stones are so rare, this is not a collection with a fixed inventory of identical pieces. When a remarkable cabochon appears, there may be only one. Once it is selected, that particular stone is no longer available to another client. The resulting jewelry is therefore not simply a customized version of an existing design, but a piece created around one particular specimen of jadeite.

For collectors, this approach is especially meaningful. The stone itself becomes the starting point of the story. Its exact shade of green, the way it catches light, its internal clarity, its shape and proportions—all of these natural characteristics influence the final design.

The Bespoke Process

1. We search for the stone

Hermit Jade continuously searches for exceptional green jadeite cabochons that meet our specimen-grade standards.

2. We notify interested clients

Because stones of this quality are extremely limited, clients may be notified when a suitable cabochon becomes available.

3. You select your jadeite

You choose the stone based on its color, clarity, light, shape, proportions, and individual character.

4. We develop the design

Our team works with you to select or develop a suitable classic High Jewelry design around the chosen jadeite.

5. We complete the bespoke setting

The selected cabochon is individually set in 18K gold, with natural diamonds where appropriate, creating a finished piece made specifically for its owner.
